Brose comes 3rd in Career’s Best Recruiters survey

Coburg (January 20, 2012). How good are the recruitment processes of top employers? What impact does the employer brand have on applicants? These were the questions investigated by the GPK communications agency and academic advisor Armin Trost, Professor of Human Resources Management at Furtwangen University, in the Career’s Best Recruiters (CBR) survey. The survey examined the top 500 companies in Germany and Austria – including the Brose Group.
The result was impressive: Scoring 95 points, Brose received the silver CBR seal and certificate, putting it in third place among German automotive/car manufacturing employers. Brose also comes third when the top Austrian employers are included.
First and second place in the ranking of the 17 automotive companies in Germany that were included in the survey went to Continental and Daimler.  Automotive manufacturers like BMW, VW, Ford, Audi and Porsche scored much lower.
In the overall ranking for Germany, which includes 500 companies from 22 industries, the Brose Group comes 19th. There are only four automotive firms in the top 20, including Brose. In the combined ranking of 1000 companies across Germany and Austria, Brose was placed 33rd.
The result of the survey was based on three phases: The first looks at general recruitment measures, from online job advertisements on company websites, to cooperation with schools and universities, to company presentations at job fairs.
The second phase consists of a speculative job application and an evaluation of the company’s response.
The third phase was based on an online questionnaire on an employer-rating website. Here applicants were asked to describe their impressions and experience of the recruitment processes of the employers in question.
“We are delighted that we give such a consistent, convincing image as an employer,” says Esther Loidl, Vice President Human Resources Brose Group. “We do not need to shy away from comparisons with other popular employers – either in our industry or elsewhere. At the same time, the results spur us on to continue along our chosen path, but also to do something about those areas where improvements could be made.”
