The growth objective of 10% was therefore achieved as was the profitability objective of 5% in the operating result.
The eight foreign plants in Europe and overseas contributed about 40% to the group turnover, their share in the result was about 60%.
This was the most successful business year for the automotive supplier in its over 80-year history. Brose has a top position among the 100 leading suppliers worldwide as the eighth-largest family-run company with regard to growth, profitability and net worth.
The financial strength of the Brose Group is very much due to the traditional restraint of the shareholders; in the year 2000, too, less than 10% was distributed to the owners.
The companys CEO, Michael Stoschek, announced at the works meeting in Coburg that the shareholders and the supervisory board had again decided to give all employees a slice of the result in 2000: more than DM12 million will be distributed worldwide to about 5,000 employees of all levels at the end of August. The amount of the bonus payment depends on the result of the organizational unit the employee works in as well as his personal commitment.
