Drives for driving safety
Car drivers are meant to arrive safely at their destination. Our electric motors and drives for active safety systems enable us to make an important contribution toward increasing car occupant protection.
The power seatbelt retractor equipped with our motor is activated before the car even sets off. Seatbelts need to fit snugly to the body to provide optimum protection, but, as far as possible, without restricting the car occupant’s freedom of movement. Our solution meets both of these requirements.
Electronic braking systems such as the anti-lock braking system (ABS) or the Electronic Stability Program (ESP) ensure that the car also remains controllable for the driver in dangerous situations. Our electric motors make sure that these systems work reliably.
The electric power steering motor (EPS) also plays a major role in making driving safer, optimally adapting steering effort to different speeds: easier parking but taut highway driving.
